We have had our Broadwood upright for 35 years. It has never been tuned in that time, which meant that it started sounding quite good for bluesy pieces – our grandson seemed quite happy with that – but he was less happy with the fact that at least two of the keys played the same notes as their neighbour! So we called in Mark. Fantastic! It isn’t a concert instrument but the sound after he had been at it for a couple of hours is incredible and, as we believe is his usual form, we got a rendition at the end that certainly proved the instrument. We would recommend Mark to anyone as the 35 years of non-tuning did not phase him in the slightest. We await the verdict of grandson – the reason we were prompted to get it tuned in the first place.

I picked Mark up this morning and he told me that he had just eaten a boiled egg…..it was hard to beat. Sadly his friend had fallen into an upholstery machine but fortunately he is now fully recovered. When Mark had tuned my piano he ended by playing a beautiful rendition of Autumn Leaves. I asked him how he managed to do that? He replied I have a photographic memory but it was never developed. Mark came to tune and mend our piano. He was swift in replying to my initial email enquiry, and we made an appointment for him come to the house. He was proficient at sorting out our piano and had a very pleasant manner. I would recommend this service.

South Western Trains brought Mark to my local Rail Station bang on time, I was there to meet him and the train guard was very helpful. On arriving at my house Mark got to work on my piano straight away, for the next hour and three quarters he meticulously tuned and checked all the working parts. Finally playing some melodies. I found Mark through google and as we live in the same town it was no problem for me to collect him and deliver him home as he is registered blind and relys on taxis or lifts as transport.
He was very knowledgeable, polite and easy company from the beginning, he talked me through our Pianos limitations and what to expect as this is our first piano and is circa 1900 and hadn’t been played or tuned by the previous owner for a few years. He fully embraced the company and chatter from my children and was very entertaining with his jokes. All in all a very pleasant, effective service, the piano sounds fantastic. Do not book Best Tune if you do not like a good laugh that may make you stop and think about your own responses to way reaction to and ability of talking to anyone with disabilities. Mark is able to make you ‘see’ the funny side of his life experiences with some of the best one liners I have ever heard. He gave my club members a belly laugh and everyone left with a smile on their face.
